just a question in general - what's best to publish Post-Precious-Plastic machine docs on OSE ? There is no problem to write another adapter for deploying on OSE (API) - just syncing might be a problem - unless I can lock the pages somehow .. otherwise I will just link to the new wiki ...
not really, depends on the fill rate; as far I heard, objects with up to 30% fill rate and a wall thickness up to 2mm is ok - depends on the motor option and version.
For solids, we have 'Obelix', https://www.instagram.com/p/CMCXjePnTV1/ shreds up to 20mm thick & nasty stuff - depends also on the motor option (up to 7kW)(edited)

but unfortunately it's pricey; but comes with auto-plunger as well
@Paul Pham - btw. there is no real good outcome printing recycled plastic; PET is still a thing (not easy); HDPE and others come with quite some problems - basically leaving you with 'trash'
good question; I am generally pessimistic about having 'plastic and sustainable' in the same sentence - and honestly, I am sceptic even about living in concrete - can't imagine even to leave my dog one night covered by petro chemstry waste

You appear to mean shredding previously 3D printed objects, not just melting down / shredding existing plastic trash, like 2 liter coke bottles and such :/
Possibly, yes. Shredding at smaller scale is incredible difficult when you want a good output, especially 2L PET Bottles - which need a grinder and quite some sophisticated apparatus to print - currently in an unresolved state btw, OS wise (shredding and grinding is at least solved). At the moment I know only of shred->grind->print - with not really satisfying results .. We pick up PET print again in Dec/Jan. for a larger printer setup but still - I don't think it's gonna be better than a one-off but at least some better data

This works ok : https://mahor.xyz/ in small but I can't say it's scalable, PET is really tricky (temperature/flake size=0.5mm); it's hard to maintain 2mm+ diameter prints.
No idea what they gonna do with it but 6x6 cm is a good start

Lydia-v4, 380V, 150 RPM - the mould is about 50 Kg hooked up on a 7kW generator - shredding wise - it's a huge lap as well
yep, lesson learned ! gonna try next time we have annealed, ... blades here, soonish -
this here drove me quite a bit back after all, no matter how 'hard' I tried
@zelbot - how's it going - still waiting since years for your contribs ... December, that's usually the time to clean up the library

never mind, just checked the data - it ain't looking good for anyone, except again the privileged profiteering from it, v4 ma* - from young mothers, plenty of families put at risks, and beyond .. young people's life, derailed for a few bugs and some 90sec IG bs sh* show - knowingly.

@katharinaelleke most of the trouble seems to stem from Mattia's, Joseph's & v4 mafias hate, greed, ... and desperate attempts to find recognition, thus ending up in hopeless stunts of self-important self-centered, and self-indulging evilness. Otherwise, things would certainly be different. Still amazed you people try the same bs game, after so many years, and decent folks telling you so - much at the expense of others. Only recommendation left we have is : get a life, perhaps you may start respecting others. Love and rewards come down the road
All those shameless lies & tricks just did hurt everyone, dragging it, you & everyone down and behind.

@zelbot - still can´t believe that a George Carlin joke destroyed so many relations and lifes. I am looking at 12/7, for the next 10 years, after having already 5 years served. Quite a shame and waste. I hope you´re aware, there are people suiciding for much less.

Anyway, after watching you, raping and plundering an OS project, it´s people, and precious recourses, count on me - to be after your ass - you just killed too many things and folks.

sure, that could do, if you know what you're doing, and have the time. Anyway, the guys on Ali are flexible and do this for dirt ...
as far I recon, it's pre-cut on the mill, then hardening, then surface grinder
casted: no way ! ends up too bridle

But isn't building it ourselves, yeah - tried that, at the end, it turned out suicidal, especially shredders, beyond 300kg - just doesn't make sense, not even for the purchaser. perhaps one of the reasons metalwork is a dying trade tho ...
basic stuff (see test footage), then you might want to crush AL and other things, food, bones, ...
however, 'Maker' wise for instance, you'd need serious equipment to get this really right (200-300k in machines alone)
300kg : 4kw motor = 60kg, chamber = 60 - 80 kg, framework & stuff, another 80 - that's the minimum you want, just to justify the work and $$ put in there
well, if it's maker & fun stuff, just to complete it, this here turned out so far the best entry option
cost near nothing, runs effortless, with sticks, or bike, flywheel, nice chips, 100 trees saved, no kids harmed :))

The concept of the circular economy has emerged as a promising solution to address the mounting concerns surrounding plastic waste and the urgent need for sustainable resource management. While conventional centralized recycling remains a common practice for plastic waste, centralized facilities may prove inadequate in handling the ever-increasi...

as for assembly instructions, yeah - still trying to figure a way to extract drawings on the fly via Solidworks API (composer) ... long way to go, even for the industry tho ...(edited)
I don't know if I'll get around to shredding plastic for at least another year; currently have my hands full just assembling a Recreator3D for converting PET bottles into 3D printer filament.
11:07 PM
I would like to build something like a wood chipper though, because I really need a better mulcher for mulching invasive weeds from my backyard
Almost one and a half years ago I released my most popular video to date in which I recycled failed 3D prints into new filament using the Filastruder. One of the steps in this process is chopping down the material that you want to use. I tried a blender and a modified paper shredder in the past, whi

Last Market for the year @esplanademarket
And what a year it has been! This year has been super important for me because I let go of things that were weighing me down heavily, and I found again the energy and power that has been there all along but not being used because of old and useless habits.
Thank you everyone for your support and thank ...
MYCELIUM - this marbling style is inspired by mycelium, which form mycorrhizal networks underground. It's sometimes called 'nature's internet' because of the way the mycelium connect plants, transferring water, nutrients and information. It's so fascinating!
