Excited to announce that we're now offering Starterkit packages through our website with all the machines and accessories needed to get started. Here's the link https://preciousplastic.com/starterkits/overview.html
To fulfill these orders we will work with the existing network of Precious Plastic community builders. Weโre starting off with suppliers in Europe, but our ultimate goal is to have machine builders as close to the delivery point as possible. For the extra support we will work with our team and others to provide quality assistance to help make these projects a success.
We're moving in this direction to:
1. Expand access to people that want to get started, but request extra help. In our experience there is a group of people out there that want to start a Precious Plastic workspace, often coming from companies/NGOโs, but want help with the process from start to finish.
2. Push deployment of V4 machines. The V4 machines are a bit more expensive to make and thus require a bigger project investment of time and energy. Offering Starterkits with added consultation provides some more security for these projects, which will result in more v4 machines being deployed.
3. Create a faster feedback process of development. We believe this will give our team more hands on experience with the problems faced on the ground around the community, so that we can more quickly publish improvements through How Toโs and eventually roll them into the next official releases.
Of course all the proceeds will go directly back into developing Precious Plastic and ensuring its existence into the future Weโre happy to have found a business model that can support both Precious Plastic HQ and people in the community

This means a few changes for this Discord.โจ
1. The server is renamed to One Army.
2. Precious Plastic makes place for our friends from other projects. We are all like-minded people working on global problems. Coming together makes us much more powerful! And itโs also easier to manage, maintain and improve.
3. In order to make it not too overwhelming you can choose projects youโre interested in. Select which project you like in #๐start-here and the channels will pop up on your sidebar. We recommend not to select all of them as it might get too much, stay focussed :)
4. We combined country channels into regions, hosting every country became too much. We see regional channels as the place to meet local people. Well, sort of locally. Ideally from there you find another Discord to go in depth. Like Precious Plastic USA or Precious Plastic Germany.
5. We added a new audio channel called "livingroom" This is a try-out. Every-time we talk to community members AFK we really like them. They all have a unique vision on life, are proactive and did some weird stuff in the past. This hangout is a way to meet you friends from around the world. It might be fun, it might be chaos. Let's see..
6. We havenโt figured this fully out, we are live testing and pushing Discord to the max. We are hopeful we can mobilise such a diverse group of like minded people on one place. But some stuff might not work, gets too busy or is just annoying. Let us know in the #deleted-channel channel if you have suggestions. 61 58 13 8

7 Weโve just released a new machine tutorial to build a MOTORED INJECTION MACHINE with Andres from El Tornillo in Colombia!
This is a big moment for a couple of reasons:
1. For the first time weโre going full in to share a machine entirely made from the community
2. With this tutorial weโre also exploring a funding mechanism (yes, Patreon!) to help us open source more knowledge in the future 
3 (but probably should be first). The original injection was definitely in need of an upgrade for quite some time now

Today @Precious Plastic is launching a new collaboration with... Prusa Research - the Czech company founded by Josef Prusa, making the award-winning open source desktop 3D printers (they sell 10K devices every month!), with a big global community of makers!
With this collaboration we want to connect our communities to give 3D print waste a second life. You see, waste from 3D printers is currently a top-of-mind problem for the Prusa community when it could actually be a very precious resource for the Precious Plastic community. It's just a matter of making those connections

On the 21.10.2013 Dave Hakkens launched Precious Plastic Version 1. Fast forward 10 years and Precious Plastic has become this big global movement of amazing micro recyclers ๏ธ Massive thanks to everyone that got involved through the years!

You're probably thinking now that it's another pair of recycled sunglasses (we love EVERY pair of recycled sunglasses, btw.!), and you partially right. But only partially!

Some time ago we connected with the Nouns community - a decentralised autonomous organisation (DAO) based on NFTs (non-fungible tokens) - unique digital identifiers recorded on a blockchain. They generate pixel characters called nouns, and the thing that all these avatars have in common are square sunglasses - NOGGLES
They wanted to materialise the virtual noggles, make sure that each pair is unique (same as their pixel nouns), and as sustainably made as possible. That's where Precious Plastic came in!
Easymoulds made a special mould of an absolutely perfect noggles shape, and sent it to Mad Plastic in Portugal , Precious Plastic NY in the US and Precious Plastic ES in Brazil 
, so we can pilot decentralized production of recycled items made as local as possible to the customer. As it usually works in our open source community, the mould project files are fully available on our website (thank you Easymould!), so everyone can remake them using Precious Plastic machines.
