I have had several inquiries for products that I make or could make that are from overseas. I can't take them any further because the cost to ship and the carbon footprint defeat the purpose. I am based in the US, so I wonder if there are a group of PP people from across the globe that would agree on some products that we could then offer globally/locally. It would be kind of a global cooperative where we market globally and sell locally. We would need to flush out the idea in more detail of course.

That's a great idea.. we kind of envision this for Precious Plastic and that's why we decided not to go to china and produce thousands of machines and ship them across the world.. unfortunately as you mentioned the network still has some way to go before we're there to market globally and sell locally. But that could be nice to prototype where you have 1 products that is produced by, say, 5 recyclers in different continents and is then shipped "locally" depending on customer location. Would love that!

Cool! I would love to collaborate in something like this. I think this kind of initiaves could push the community members individually to bring the community itself to a next step

Sorry to pop in so late. There have been instances for myself within my country (Indonesia) where workspaces collaborate together to fulfill an order. Many of the workspaces here are friendly with eachother and we help eachother out when possible. I'd say we are fairly well networked for this to work. In your case, if it's international business, then of course it gets more tricky. If you want a workspace in a different country to fulfill an order, I don't think that should be too difficult to do so long as you find the workspace in whatever country. If you want some compensation/fees/whatever then you'd have to go over the terms and sort it out. If you want something more streamlined, then there's definitely some work to be done.
