@Taylor or @Kat have you have the chance to see this message? Any ideas? 🙂 (edited)

hello! sorry for delay. getting back into a more stable routine now! 1) slow website - this could happen when they are using big files.. on the community platform we have something built in that reduces the size of images automatically - is that something we could sort of easily implement as well @Taylor ? 2) limitation of our chat - yes I see that many customers ask for a call...but tbh I don't see why they couldn't just share a document with more info, or make an online call through google meet or similar? (the seller can just create a link for the customer to join). Maybe this is something we can/should give as guidelines? That being said, I think we can improve the chat feature (longterm) 3) Chat issues: yes, we know about this issue and it was a bit improved but still happens that inbetween it's loading and you have to wait until you can continue typing... @Taylor I know you tried already, but is there any more space for easy improvements? 4) payment: this is an interesting one! There is not a straight forward way to do this, but I could see this useful for many sellers and I think we could find a way to provide a way to do this... 5) Shipping: Mmh, I guess we expect machine builders who sell their machines to know roughly what packages their machines need, and what the weight will be etc. because we assume that they have some experience with that. Don't see why they can't base it on an estimation based on their experience? 6) Mould rental: Bazar is not tailored for rental or other services, so would say it's definitely not a standard. I would personally be up for being open for that section, but can also see that it can come with another set of requirements... What do you think?

Thanks for your feedback @Kat ! 2) limitation of our chat - if the seller shared the link only they would not share their email correct? Thats a good option 🙂 4) payment: ok, i'll add it monday to keep it as a side idea/project 5) shipping: well yes and no, I just got a reply from another machine builder regarding the strong changes in shipping costs " this is really hard for machines that are shipped on pallets since these prices vary from day to day by up to 300€ and per country and also locations in the countries may influence the price by 1000€ or more." Maybe we should build a best practice on shipping for other machine builders to share how they manage international shipping. What do you think? 6) mould rental : yes agreed that we would need some adjusting on the current bazar to manage rentals but it is a good idea when we consider new categories.

Yes! Sorry for missing this message before! All valid points I feel. 1. Slow website - I agree! Now that emails are up, I'm going to start burning through the list on Monday - and then properly look into switching hosts. I've been emailing with the host I use personally (who I really like) and they think they can get CS-Cart working. Because CS-Cart is small, there's zero competition for hosting and Simtech (CS-Cart) is the only decent option for turnkey solutions. So hopefully once we can migrate we can get a much faster setup, and also pay as little as 1/10th of what we are paying now 😉

2. I agree with this - It might be worth looking into other chat plugins, as the current one is not even a chat plugin - it's a re-skinned Simtech "ticket system" plugin, so it's definitely a bit basic. I'll add it to the list to look into and see if there another option that works a bit more slick. 3. This is the issue of the "connecting" block causing the cursor to lose focus. When I raised with simtech as a bug they disagreed and wanted money to fix it, when I raised with the developer we were using they said it couldnt be fixed. I was able to fix it on the front end (for the customers) however I'll need to track down the CSS for the backend to add my fix in there too. But that's an "easy" fix

4. Payment Currently no, the Bazar doesnt function like that and I doubt it would be an easy mod to implement. They could make a "deposit" listing, and then offer a coupon code to remove the deposit amount from the final listing? However the Bazar is really set up to sell products in stock. If products are made to order (thats fine as long as it's communicated in the listing) - payment would need to be 100% up front

5 Shipping They can make a separate listing called shipping, and once the machine is built they can send the link to the customer to pay whatever the rate is on that day? But that's more a problem with the business practice in my opinion - some days you lose on shipping, some days you win. If margins are that tight then a buffer should be built into the shipping fee. For example on my listings I've requested a quote (or in some cases 2) from DHL for approximately sized items to each continent. (for example Durban South Africa, and Fez Morocco) and then averaged them and added that as the shipping for all of Africa. If someone from Mogadishu makes an order and pays the 80euro shipping, It will likely cost me 150... But if someone in Cairo makes an order it might cost me 45euro

6 Mould rental Cool idea, maybe... CS-Cart has capability (finally! something it can do!) for subscription products (turned off at the moment). So a vendor could sell a mould rental product as a subscription for 20euro month, and then ship the mould. However I dont think it's a good idea, as if the customer decides to cancel his subscription and keep his new 20euro mould - there's no recourse. We'd need to implement some kind of escrow service where a deposit is held, or leave it up to the vendor customer pair. Also moulds wear and tear, get scratched etc - so dealing with that (partial deposit refund if mould is returned damaged) is a recipe for creating bad customer experiences on the Bazar. It's a cool idea! And if someone wants to do it they should - however I feel the Bazar should be for sales only

Just thinking about this more - you could have a coupon code called "50deposit" in the backend is a 50% off coupon code. So a customer purchases using that code, and then when time to pay the other half they purchase again using another code called 50remainder which is the exact same thing in the backend (50% off) Each order would end up looking like two orders... but would work with existing systems and not be too annoying for customers if they'd like to use this method? (plus full visibility of who's paid deposit and who's paid full) We'd need to enable Vendor's to make coupon codes though - which could get messy

Hey @Taylor thanks a lot for your feedbacks. Like your proposal per topics ! Shall we had the actions on Monday under Bazar pending development to then prioritize ? Let me know if i shall do it 🙂 If is summarize we have : 1/ slow website : review host provider 2/ limited chat : investigate other chat plug in (or other ticketing system) 3/ chat lag : Taylor to investigate source in CSS on the back end 4/ deposit payment : yes creating an deposit listing is an option but agree with you that this is not where the marketplace wishes to go (as mentioned in our call). The issue indeed is that it will be cut in various orders and will complicated also tracking I would say. 5/shipping: thanks for sharing your best practice. Another seller said they did something similar - could make sense to share this to all sellers/create s standard email as this has been asked a few times.. 6. Mould rental : thanks for your feedback and insight on how this could be managed on the Bazar. Agreed that the goal in this moment is not to develop new categories on the Bazar but an idea to keep in mind when we do start this conservation.
