Precious Plastic / archived-arbor-press-dev / in my opinion there should be a keyway

something like this

it will for sure need to be manufactured by a specialized lathe / machining shop

I have already discussed my solution to this which is to cut a keyway on the outer face of the spur gear which engages directly with the handwheel hub, so that the torque is not transferred by the axle, but directly to the gear instead, and at a greater distance along the radius which reduces the shear force on the key also. The outer surface of the hub becomes the bearing surface against the gearbox, so it also does not require any bearings.

nice, sounds good and makes a lot of sense. I wanted to ask you, wou you like to include your CAD drawings in our grabcad workbench so people can take a closer look to them? 🙂 even if they are separated parts !

here is the gearbox assembly

here's the main assembly, I would still make a few changes, I think it needs triangular bracing plates between the base and the posts, to keep it vertical. Also I would not bother with the spring mechanism.

Im not sure how to add it to grabcad?

do you have a link?
