But you and I here can lift the spirits of support for Mother Earth and perhaps this is a better solution than stirring up yesterday's politics and together producing the goal of the future ^.-

I found a few folks in TLV on the precious plastic pages. I reached out to their facebook, one did not reply, the other said they closed down their shop. I'm happy to meet up and chat, and see about helping out. I'm really interested in project kamp type ventures, but think the precious plastic type projects could be great for generating interest and community building. Also thought to put it on a trailer and bring to schools - maybe we could get grants? @davidyaha PM me ur what's app number, let's grab a beer or coffee. I'm in Ramat Aviv, just north of the park, but happy to bike into the center. @NavaThunder getting down your way is a little harder, but also happy to meet up! I just made aliyah 6 mos ago so happy to make friends!

I was actually quite excited about project kamp as well. I think it is a huge undertaking but definitely interesting to see if it takes off. From what I've seen from other YT content, other people are having trouble with the local municipalities of Portugal so I hope that it wouldn't become a huge bump in the road for this project. Anyways, I feel like precious plastic is way more mature for us to replicate locally and get involved. whatever comes with it is a bonus IMO @Benergy (edited)

Agree with you David on the challenges of the Kamp project. So many regulatory issues in any location for projects like that. In Israel they would be different, but just as much.

Hey @Benergy @NavaThunder I've reached out to Zikit - https://community.preciousplastic.com/u/zikitlabs and the pink cow - https://community.preciousplastic.com/u/the-pink-cow yesterday evening and just got word from Zikit that they've stopped their operation. Tai from Zikit was very willing to answer some questions so hopefully we can learn from him a bit. I'll update on any findings. Still waiting to hear back from the pink cow but from what I know the coffee shop that they are supposed to be at was closed (probably due to Covid). Maybe I can hear from them what was the community like before Covid. Anyways, it seems like we need to reboot the whole community and spread the word around. I've gone over the starter kit from the community website and we should probably come up with a plan to kickstart the whole thing. I'll post on a couple of active facebook groups later this week to see if there are more people that are inspired to join the community and we'll see how it goes. Would you like to setup some time during this week for a video call here on Discord? I can do early evenings most of the days.

Also agree with your assessment of abundant low quality feedstock and zero demand for it, and a high cost/low quantity recycling process. So I think the commercial value is questionable, unless people will pay a premium for such plastics. I think there's value in the educational and awareness components. Also in the skills development side on making/design/manufacturing of the equipment.

but I'm really glad things are!! Yeah I kind of figured they weren't a part of PP because I hadn't seen them before... I think you can still be a part of PP and use industrial machines because it is reusing, which over all is great! So that might be good to ask them where they got their stuff just to have options... But yeah I definitely agree the more the merrier with open source. I am used to the timezone difference with family and friends and I do use WhatsApp regularly so you don't have to add me but I don't wouldn't mind

Hello everyone My name is Lisa) I came across with one of the OneArmy projects, namely #PreciousPlastic, almost from its very beginning (app. 5 years ago). At that time, I was just starting my undergraduate studies at the University of St. Petersburg, Russia and did not yet know how much my life and my perception of the would change in the nearest future. After 4 years of studying International Relations, I couldn't stop thinking that I was moving in the wrong direction. Already at the university, I began to spread the ideas of #zerowaste #minimalism and #sustainable_consumption. It has been a year since my graduation and it is almost a year now since I am a Sustainable Development Master student in Sweden, Uppsala. Just recently, I started sharing my experience on Instagram @gr.eenko. Every day spent here, surrounded by the same driven people and the world experts in the field, is defo one exceptional experience. Dear Community, I am part of an NGO setting up workshops in the context of the refugee crisis and gathered my experience of PP during the development of V4. For our recent project Re.Works in Ioannina, Greece in cooperation with the makerspace Habibi.Works (https://habibi.works/) we are still looking for a coordinator. Re.Works is a project focusing on using recycled plastic as a material for the creation of daily needed products together with and for refugees. Inside of a shipping container, it is an fully equiped Precious Plastic workspace with many possibilities. The container is placed on the property of Habibi.Works and has by that full access to their workshops. As this project is fairly new, you have the responsibility and possibillity to set up an workspace really helping people on a daily base. What we are looking for:

I'm in IL too. There's a whats app for precious plastic in Israel. There have been a few failed attempts with a few machines that have traded hands around the country. PM me if you want and I'll add you to the chat. Regarding your first question. I try to do it on a tarp. Collect it that way. Also hard floors are good with broom and vacuum.

Can not inject PET plastic with good results. PP plastic is the best for that. check out the busterbeagle mk3 injection molder. it is fairly easy to duplicate.

the Precious plastic hand operated molder does work also, but it will be quite physically demanding if you are making more than 30 or 40 pieces.

Hello everyone! I would like to share a bit what we do in case we find some enthusiasts that would like to start their own plastic recyling journey

worked within the Precious Plastic core team for four years, we initially joined as volunteers during the development of Version 4. During our time there, we were responsible for starting the Precious Plastic "Collabs" were we offered machines, onsite setup/training, and consulting to other organizations looking to implement local plastic recycling solutions. This was the primary business model for Precious Plastic during that time. We recently started our own machine shop here in Portugal

to assist organizations with setting up small scale plastic recycling projects, as we accumulated a lot of practical knowledge in this area and know that many organizations and individuals need help. That's why we started MAD PLASTIC (https://www.instagram.com/madplastic_) - to consult organizations on small scale recycling projects, and provide the machinery, molds, and training to implement them.
