I have a contact that has a laser cutting machine in Goregaon, Mumbai He helped me with the whole thing, gave the most reasonable prices and also provoded Mild Steel Sheets at Rs 58 per kg and also didn't account for the scrap that was left after laser cutting

I had all the laser cutting done in Rs 2400 for MS for the shredder box and the and got all the Mild Steel material for Rs 600 i think in total it was about 11kg of Mild Steel for only the box

@Sagar what motor are you using for shredder?

@shreyas i got a 1.5 hp motor with a reducer which rotated at around 60 rpm It was a used hoist motor so the direction control was already built into the circuit I got it cheap at Rs 2500

@Sagar thank you! One last thing Can you let me know what's the torque? N.m ?

178 N.m as calculated from an online calculator... But in my experience the actual torque was much lower due to some unknow reason that i can't seem to figure out... The shredder struggled even when two layers of plastic bottle were shredded at the same time

And just get an industrial motor that has a dedicated gearbox which guarantees a particular amount of torque... Because most used motors like these are not reliable and trustworthy in terms of actual output that they offer

I would recommend getting an expert to review your options before purchasing a motor.. It is the most integral part of the machine and it has the highest chances of failure if not done correctly

Group buy lasercut parts from India Hello everyone, I am machine builder from India and I was thinking with the v4 release date approaching soon, will any of you be interested in buying the laser cut parts for the shredder v4 (or v3.1?!?) in group/bulk, that way I’d be cheaper for everyone because lets face it manufacturing costs in India is cheaper that in European countries. This topic is a directory if anyone is interested so when v4 releases I can enquiry and calculate the prices, discounts, shipping etc for those no. of people.I was wondering if some from a country/continent could take the lead, to whom I can ship all the orders from that country/continent with the international shipping and then that person can sort the orders and ship with cheaper domestic shipping (of course the cost will be covered by the person ordering) Am I making any sense?!? hi @kushalparmar Im also new here on Discord but I've been following the works of Precious Plastic for 3 years. I join this group last week and Ive seen a lot of questions like yours. I think there no replies because most of us are new to it (you can see it by the amount of users without a picture profile. this is always a good indication. In a way we have to find a way to support each other. Only yesterday and today I started reading the posts on the country topics. I also think most users have good will to participate but as nobody replies the move on. Thats why I'm replying to you. It is unanimous the shredding machines are easily spotted as the begin of everything. I also thought of that at the begin. But I evolved my thought around it for 2 years only to find out I was too broken even to build a machine with old 2nd hand parts of early prototypes. so I decided to buy good scissor and started from that. A good thing I learned was that if I had a shredder I would need to have a bigger source of garbage and I only had me as a source ( take a look at what I posted at #archived-machines ) Learning more details about each type of plastic can help you build a good background about the topic. also reading and watching other people's experience helps in the process. Use your consumption as a base source. try to find a common ground between plastic types. Identify what is more valued from what you buy and that should be an easy type to start with. The best use of a shredder is to shred the same type and color. then there you will have a product with at least some value. If you had the shredder now you would be doing a mistake almost everyone did which is shredding any plastic together , which produces only a low quality outcome and the problem persists.

@about dynamo shredder blades are made from SS304 for version 3 and hardox 400 for version 4 The hopper is recommended to be made in mild steel but some have also made from wood, so it is upto you. The basic purpose of hopper is just to funnel the plastic into the machine.

Building extruder using common materials is not too difficult. Get a good mechanic to weld frame precisely so screw is aligned with barrel and make sure you have axial bearings.

plastic brick will cost less if making in compression machine but expensive in injection machine & mainly you can do mass production only in injection machine.. but mainly it depends on the laying charges & where you gonna lay and by the way there are grades in concrete pavers and there are Indian standards also to meet if we do compare analysis. It has been a year since my graduation and it is almost a year now since I am a Sustainable Development Master student in Sweden, Uppsala. Re.works is looking for a recycling workspace coordinator Re.works is a plastic recycling workspace next to the Katsikas Refugee Camp in Ioaninna, Greece. The workspace is currently located on the grounds of Habibi.Works, a makerspace for refugees and locals. At Re.works, people come and work with plastic according to the Precious Plastic methods. We are looking for one or two volunteers who want to stay for ideally 3 months or more from December/January onwards. You will be coordinating the workspace, collecting plastic, recycling plastic, and guiding refugees and locals in their own creative process. Accomodation and food is included, and after 3 months there is a small compensation as well. If you are interested, contact us by sending an email to reworks@notforyourdistinction.org and include your CV and a short motivation text!

We are building a huge 3d printer, that has a print volume of little more than 1 cubic meter, so should be able to print a lot of cool stuff like vases, pots, furniture, prototypes.....,

Hi, without any estimation I agreed with the lathe person to make the shaft of my shredder pro in bright MS steel (yeild strength : 415mpa -(cold drawn) 215 -(TGP)). I'm worried about it's hardness, have anyone made the shafts from MS steel, and can share me the experience. Or I have made a very bad decisions, please help me

Hello, I am in Brisbane Australia. I've been looking into machines to densify soft plastic (bags, film etc.) so I can process it in my granulator. My research has led me to discover a device called an "agglomerator". Many places in India build these machines but they all use a lot of power. Is there anyone in India who can build one of these using a maximum 5kW single phase? I'm really interested.

Hello, I hope this is the right channel to ask. I was part of the PP V4 team and am currently working in the Maldives. We purchased our sheet press in India, and it was build differently than the V4 sheet press plans suggest. The cables and connectors keep breaking and we can not buy heat resistant cables here in the Maldives. An order has been placed but already takes 3 weeks and we don't know when to expect it. Does any one know of a possibility to get heat resistant cables and connectors in the Maldives?

Just poking in here and saw this lingering question. Plastic as a finished product has a much higher value than fuel. You can produce a product that weighs 10g but has the value of more than 1 liter of fuel. You can take degraded plastic and blend it with better quality recycled plastic and produce something that has a better value.

yeah, but the problem being recycled plastic can cost as much as virgin plastic in some cases because it has to be sorted and only high quaity plastic waste can be used. If i buy plastic it has all sort of mixed plastic along with aluminium covered plastic which is tough to recycle. Thats why, thought of pyrolsing mixed plastic everything can be recycled. (edited)

When you use pyrolysis on plastic, you make the useful life of the material go from a very long time to just a few moments. That's kind of how fuel works. All the effort and energy that goes into producing plastic gets sort of wasted when you convert it to a fuel. I understand that there might be some demand or some case for needing to do so...but...it's better to keep it as plastic, even if you're producing plastic planks from mixed plastics even with the little bits of aluminium. There's also the environmental cost of the air and water pollution that you will produce with the process. Likely, these things wont be addressed properly if done in a small scale setting.
